Shakespeare:
Today:
Dan started class with a guitar solo. (video to follow)
We again defined Allusion.
We looked at both a modern and classic allusion:
First we watched a clip from Monty Python- Measure for Measure under water
Then we read a poem based on a future character Mariana by Tennyson
I asked you to pick any character, major or minor and write a poem from their perspective. One line had to have come from a line in a play. Min req. 14 lines.
We shared a few great ones.
We read act 2, sc 3 to the point where Angelo makes his proposition to Isabella. We also discussed briefly how creepy this is and why people were so fearful of open sexuality.
HW: Please find any Shakespeare allusion. We will share these Thursday and Friday. They should be under 3 minutes in length.
