A Block:
We looked at words Shakespeare invented.
We define a Shakespearian tragedy and took notes.
We watched a PBS doc with Ethan Hawke discussing the challenges of playing the part of Macbeth. It also examined the history the play was based on. This can be viewed here:

C Block:
We were unable to do the lesson plan planned- dumb April showers and the flowers.....

I broke you into group and had you modernize and present the 10 lines I gave you. You were encouraged to do these as: A Western, country western song, gangsta, children story, etc....

Macbeth:
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
