Soph Lit:

Today in class:

We finished the film.

We reviewed the questions on the test.

We took the All my Sons test during the last 1/2.

After vacation, we will be reading a book that you may have heard about in the news this month, Catcher in the Rye. Over vacation, please find time to ask different people about their opinion of the novel. Were they allowed to read it? Do they remember liking the book? Please be prepared to discuss different reactions on Monday.

Have a great vacation!

World of Shakespeare:

Today in class we played a game based on the hit TV show Survivor. Besides being a fun class before we head into vacation, this was designed to help you identify the different character parts in the play and to speculate on their relationships.

Due to the snow day, our quiz on the comedy terms will be Tuesday when we get back. I will go over them on Monday.

Have a great vacation!

Today in class:
We defined 10 terms on the board. Please make sure that you have solid definitions. You will have a quiz on the terms this Friday.

We discussed comic timing and how a beat or pause can make the joke. The pacing of delivery of a joke has a strong impact on the comic effect in this play.

I asked you to break into small groups and develop 3 jokes that use timing for the humor.
