Today:

Journal:  Free write.  Write about anything that is on your mind.   1/2 page min.  RANT!

We played with the ipads and the app Globe 360.  We used the app to learn about the Globe, play with some cool VR and place a 3d model on anyplace that you put the printed marker.

You were asked to find 10 facts about the Globe.  We went around the room and each had the chance to share one.

We looked at Ethan Hawke discussing the history behind the play and what he went through to prep for the part.

A Block was assigned officially their 10 lines to be memorized by next Friday.  To be consistent, B block also had the due date for Friday.

HW:  Begin learning your lines.

Shakespeare:

I will be collecting journals #11-21 this Friday.  Please have them polished and ready to go.

Today was a workday for your group project.  The goal today was to take your research and modernize the song that you each were given from The Twelfth Night. 

You will have Friday to complete a music video for your song.

Reminder:  You will be doing confidential assessment on the involvement of each person in your group.  Please make sure that you have a clearly defined role.

Today:

Journal:  Please write what your would like engraved on your tombstone.  As a challenge, this needs to be EXACTLY 32 words.

We learned about the curse on Shakespeare's grave and the controversy over the possibility that his skull is missing.

A Block:  Write a letter from Macbeth to Lady Macbeth explaining all of the crazy things that have happened over the last few days.

Shakespeare:

Today:

Journal:  Doodle and daydream for the first 10 min.

We watched a globe production of act 1+2.  As much of the comedy is physical, I think it helps to see it.  I hope it made you laugh at least a few times.

We broke into your groups and brainstormed on how to put together your project together.

Thursday:  Record song
Friday:  Make a music video/doc. on your song.  Be creative.  I am grading this mostly on effort.

Journal:  If you had three wishes, what would you wish for.  Please also explain why.  1/2/page

We acted/took notes on act1 sc 1-4.

We took a Kahoots! quiz on my intro notes and act 1.

We went over the ten lines that you must learn by next Wed.

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,

We continued our look at funny....

We looked at the three puns that Shakespeare typically uses:  Substitution, Homonyms, and double meanings.

We looked at the UK prime minister addressing parliament using a slew of Shakespeare puns:

I broke you into groups to create a short skit using an example of all the three puns we covered.

Note:  Your Hamlet papers are graded in turnitin.  There were missing papers- It is your responsibility to log in and check that it was submitted and graded.  If you did not pass this in- please do so ASAP.

We took a quiz on movie.

I passed out Macbeth.  Please leave your anthology in your locker till Halloween.
