Today in class:

We started with the journal prompt:

Please write a well crafted story in exactly 182 words that begins with:
"He could see the tears in her eyes, as the light moved across her face."

We looked at Shakespeare in Love to show some of the things about Shakespeare from my intro notes.

HW: Please continue to learn your 10 lines for this Wed.

It was a pleasure to meet so many of your parents last night. Please pass along my thanks for their patience in dealing with the wait to meet with me.

D Block:

Today:

We completed the journal prompt (please see below)

I explained the rehersal for This I believe, October 25th at 8:00 am. I gave passes to those participating.

We went outside and:
Took a group of words from act 1 and tried to show them in a still picture. Please see examples bellow:

We worked on showing weight by making small skits where your pinky is a 4 foot, 30 pound sword.

We acted Act 1 sc 3.

HW: Learn your 10 lines by next Wed. Encourage your parents to come out tonight and meet me: 6:30-8:30.

Reminder

You are reminded that tonight is parent/teacher conferences. Please remind your parent/guardian and encourage them to come out. I promise to say nice things (mostly.)

I gave intro notes on Shakespeare and Macbeth.

During our study of Macbeth I have the following objectives:

You will enjoy the play and understand why his stories have lasted over 400 years.

You will do well academically and fully understand the play.

To help us accomplish this, we act the play out 100% in class. You may use any notes on any quiz/test. During Macbeth, we work very hard in class, but no outside reading or HW is given provided that we get everything done in class.
